Education is critical to the future of our children, our economy and our communities. An investment in education is an investment in the future. But one size does not fit all.

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, education is: the action or process of educating or of being educated. 

Education is a term often used to describe the primary and higher education systems in place. But education can take many forms outside of these traditional systems. Trade schools and internships are as important as a university to some fields of study and online schooling is rapidly becoming a common alternative to on-campus study. Providing great education means opening up more opportunities for alternative education.

Programs like the Clark County Skills Center serve as an example of innovative education. I will work to reform Washington’s educational system to provide opportunities for everyone.

Washington State is innovative, cutting edge, and focused on education. To keep hold of this culture, we must reject federal involvement in education. Washington should be leading the way for new educational opportunities and embracing technological advancements and methods of engaging student participation. Following the lead of D.C beaurocrats will keep us in the background and our creativity buried.
